Range Rover HSE
Agility isn’t normally a word used when the subject is a 2.5-ton luxury SUV—but the Range Rover HSE blends enthusiasm with legendary off-road prowess. Classic styling and smart features are a nice bonus. Engine choices are a 340-hp supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 (380 hp in the HSE Dynamic) or a remarkably efficient 254-hp diesel 3.0-liter V-6. Both are matched to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. A plug-in hybrid with a combined output of 398 horsepower debuts in summer 2017.
The exterior mirrors can be folded away at the simple press of a button. Upon locking your vehicle, they fold automatically. Includes approach lights, memory function and auto reverse dipping.
Providing improved visibility when reversing, the Rear View Camera also helps when hitching a trailer. Static lines representing the vehicle’s outer perimeter and predicted path are superimposed on the rearward image, to make parking in tight spots as easy as possible.
The new standard 10″ high-definition dual touchscreens allow you to view information while simultaneously interacting with additional features. The 12″ high-definition Interactive Driver Display receives and projects driving information, entertainment and safety data.
Range Rover HSE features premium LED headlights with signature Daytime Running Lights as standard. LED lights are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle and use less energy.
The Range Rover HSE rivals the Porsche Macan, Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q5 for size. Dynamically, the Sport is closest to the Macan, as they are both very good to drive. The Macan may be sharper and more performance-focused, but the Sport’s comfortable ride and smooth automatic gearbox means it’s better for long distance cruising.
